The Honda Prelude is about to arrive in dealerships, and the Japanese automaker has finally revealed its pricing.
If you want to get your hands on Honda’s new two-door sports car, you’ll need to spend $49,990 before freight and PDI fees, which amount to $2,997. It won’t fit every budget, but the new Prelude promises to be very interesting from a performance standpoint.
The new 2026 Honda Prelude will be powered by a combination of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors, for a total output of 200 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque. Yes, that’s significantly less than what you get with the Civic Type R, but the instant response from the electric motors will likely make the Prelude’s driving experience just as engaging. At least, that’s what I believe based on my personal experience with this type of setup.
One thing is certain: the new-generation Honda Prelude is sure to turn heads with its aggressive lines and modern stance. It’s definitely not an unpleasant car to look at. The cabin is also clean and modern with well-executed finishing touches, completing the overall design. Honda has gone all-out with a digital instrument cluster displayed on a 10.2-inch screen. As for the infotainment system, it comes with a 9-inch display.
Unsurprisingly, inventory will be extremely limited for the first year of production in Canada. It’s safe to bet that the first units to land on Canadian soil will sell like hotcakes despite the criticism surrounding its pricing. In any case, it’s a car we’re all very eager to see on the road.
