Year after year, the popularity of the Honda HR-V continues to grow—and for good reason. The arrival of the new generation brought us a larger and more capable subcompact SUV. The HR-V offers an appealing size within a price range that suits the majority of buyers.
The Honda HR-V is a competitive model, which is why it benefits from a series of small updates for 2026. Notably, the Japanese automaker’s SUV now features a new 9-inch touchscreen for the LX and Sport trims—an option that was previously exclusive to the EX-L version. This means Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now come standard, making the HR-V even more attractive. As if that weren’t enough, a smart device charger for compatible phones is also included as part of this update.
Of course, the improvements don’t stop there. The Japanese brand’s small SUV also gets new wheel designs across nearly all trims, including 17- and 18-inch variants. Honda has also added two new paint colors to the 2026 HR-V palette: the striking Pearl Competition Blue and Solar Silver Metallic.
Single Powertrain Option
Since this is essentially a mid-cycle refresh, Honda hasn’t made any mechanical changes. The Japanese automaker tends to be very conservative in this area. The 2026 HR-V will continue to be powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that delivers 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque—regardless of the version you choose. This engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The LX trim still comes standard with front-wheel drive, while all other versions are offered exclusively with all-wheel drive.
As for pricing, the 2026 Honda HR-V LX starts at $33,436 for the front-wheel-drive model. The all-wheel-drive LX now costs $35,736. The Sport and EX-L trims are priced from $39,036 and $41,836, respectively—still highly competitive within the segment.
